My First Modeling Gig (the hard way ha)
Here’s some exciting positive news to share from the personal side of cancer!
I have been selected to be one of the 12 “models” for the 2016 Colondar 2.0 annual magazine (to be published in March 2016) which annually features the stories of 12 young CRC patients from across the nation who were diagnosed under age 50 (the age when screening is recommended to start).
I’m very excited to take part in a national project which shows the “young” face of cancer and which promotes togetherness within the patient community, gives emotional & practical advice to both patients and caregivers and also serves as a reminder to everyone that cancer does not have any age limits, i.e. get all the suggested screenings! (and more if your body is telling you that something may be wrong!).
Who ever knew it would require me to get Stage IV cancer to score my first ever modeling gig? haha
Quoted from today’s Press Release:
“Introducing the 2016 Colondar models! We will continue to change the perception of colorectal cancer! Once again, we have found 12 people who were diagnosed under the typical age of 50 and their stories will amaze you about their strength. Their stories are yet another reminder that you MUST be your own health advocate!”
It was a very nice Birthday present – now onward to birthday #44!
